Well, Fall is here and we at the Stirling Festival Theatre are busy getting ready for the rest of 2017. You still have a few more chances to see the SFT Young Company’s Hilarious Haunted Mansion. As the writer/director, it has been a great experience working with such talented kids (37 of them!) from all over the area.
Next up, we have Anne Marie Sheffler returning to our Upper Burrell Hall with MILF Life Crisis. Sheffler scored a big hit with audiences earlier this year with Suddenly Mommy and she is back with a hilarious new show about returning to dating after divorce. After the response from the first show, MILF Life Crisisis sure to be a crowd pleaser.
After that, Stand Up Stirling is back with another great line up of comedians. Hosted by Foxboro’s own, Dan Curtis Thompson and headlined by Neil Grinstead (Just For Laughs, The Comedy Network, CBC Television, Halifax Comedy Festival). Other comedians include: Claire Belford (featured on Sirius XM’s Next Top Comic competition), Ariel Kagen (Yuk Yuks, The Laugh Factory, Stand Up NY), Will French (2016 recipient of the Mark Breslin Award for Stand up Excellence through Humber College) and, well, me.
Coming in November, is our annual Musical Comedy Panto, Little Red. Returning to the stage are favourites JP Baldwin, Stefne Mercedes (HIEEEEE!), Megan Poole and Dan Curtis Thompson. Some of you may remember Sal Figliomeni as Buttons from both past Cinderellas. He returns this year as our dame, Aunt Violet. Little Red runs from November 25 until December 31 with Naughty Shows, Family Shows and the special New Year’s Eve show. The phones are already ringing and tickets are moving fast for all shows.
Watch out for your 2018 Season brochure, coming in the mail soon. It is sure to be one of the most exciting SFT Seasons in recent memory. Comedy, concerts and local stories will highlight our season. Lots of fun for grown ups and kids. There will be Grammy nominated musicians, some of the finest tribute acts in the country, musicals and tons of surprises. Come and see us. We are making new friends and re-connecting with old.
