ZOOM LIVESTREAM PERFORMANCES
For our patrons who are still cautious about going out into large groups or who cannot physically attend live theatre, we are scheduling some of our performances and events on-line.
You do not need to download Zoom to your computer, but we recommend that you install Zoom (free version) if you do not have it already.
You will also require a webcam and microphone/speakers, items that are usually built into computers and devices.
You can also join the meeting without Zoom by joining from your web browser.
Here is some further information for running Zoom on your browser: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115005666383-Show-a-Join-from-your-browser-Link
The day before the show or event, you will receive a Link, a Meeting ID and a Password by email. Just before the start time, just click on the link, enter the information and you will be admitted to our ‘virtual theatre’.
LOVE LETTERS, by Pulitzer-nominated playwright, A.R. GURNEY
Sunday September 13, 2020 2 PM
A unique and imaginative theatre piece which, in the words of the author, “needs no theatre, no lengthy rehearsal, no special set, no memorization of lines, and no commitment from its two actors beyond the night of performance.” The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences.
As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.
Read by the SFT Artistic Director Ken MacDougall and his wife Jane McClelland, this show will be live-streamed on Zoom for patrons who are still cautious about going out into large groups or who cannot physically attend live theatre.
