Mother of All Shows

April 17th, 2024 7:00PM Main Stage

Mother of All Shows is coming home! Special screening to commemorate National Canadian Film Day with a post-film Q&A of this mother/daughter musical traumedy starring Wendie Malick, directed by Melissa D’Agostino.

In order for Liza to cope with the impending death of her estranged mother, she retreats to a 70's variety show in her mind where the all-powerful host is her own mother, Rosa, who leads a cast of people from Liza's past and present, all a jumble in her mind. Rosa hosts the show in Liza's head with all the bravado and pizazz of Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur, and Rosemary Clooney. She sings, and dances, and yuks it up, all in Liza's imagination. Scene by scene, song by song, Liza works through another part of their past in an attempt to see her mother in real life without losing herself in the process.

Local Spotlight: Experience the magic of seeing Stirling and our theatre on the big screen.

Award-Winning Cinema: This film isn't just a local gem; it has won Outstanding Narrative Feature and Outstanding Direction at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and is currently nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards.

Star Power: Enjoy a stellar performance by Wendie Malick, a beloved and two-time Emmy nominated actor known for her roles in Hot in Cleveland, Just Shoot Me, Young Sheldon, and more.

Tickets are only $15 to be among the first in Canada to see the film before its US release in July 2024.

The Harrowing of Brimstone McReedy

May 16th - May 19th 2024 Main Stage

The Harrowing of Brimstone McReedy is a play by Eric Woolfe (House at Poe Corner, Doc Wuthergloom’s Haunted Medicine Show) based on the Faust legend. Woolfe uses puppets and close-up magic to tell an eerie tale of unholy larceny and Klondike gold, based on the sworn testimony of the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal. Strange things loom in the midday moon, where lost men moil for gold.

Our hero, Brimstone, is caught up in the Canadian Klondike Gold Rush of 1897. An alchemy of historical fact, ancient legend, true stories of Old West grifters and card sharps, the works of HP Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood and Robert Service, and a good deal of heartbreak and whimsy, this epic tale tells the story of a two-bit conman and how he lost his true love to the dark spirits of the North as a result of his greed and lust for gold and “the sure thing” game.

Dwayne Gretzky Concert

Friday February 23rd, 2024 8PM Main Stage

Dwayne Gretzky is a 10+ piece juggernaut that brings to life the greatest songs of all time, this talented group of Toronto musicians ignites audiences with their charm, fidelity and theatrical flair. Celebrating classic pop and rock, from Fleetwood Mac to Fatboy Slim, Dwayne Gretzky has delivered electrifying renditions of over 700 songs.

Whether reinterpreting a classic in their latest recordings or playing one note-for-note at a live show, Dwayne Gretzky continues to shatter conventions and bring people together in a celebration of the songs we all forgot we loved.

Widely hailed as ‘Canada’s reigning champs of nostalgia,’ Dwayne Gretzky transcends cover band status. The music collective’s performance of any one of the more than 700 classic songs in its catalogue not only showcases the abundant musical talents of each member but is also a thrill to experience. When all is said and done, Dwayne Gretzky is as much fun to watch as it is to listen to.

With a still growing and still fervent fan base, the buzz around Dwayne Gretzky was greatly bolstered by two marathon live-streamed shows on New Year’s Eve in 2020 and 2021 that allowed live music-starved viewers to enjoy a ‘night out’ in the pandemic-safe comfort of their homes. But as successful as those virtual shows were, the band’s curated nostalgia trips are best experienced live as the set list captures the unique joy of turning a radio dial and being surprised by the familiar.

Jason McCoy

Jason McCoy

As a 25 year veteran of the entertainment industry, and two time CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Jason McCoy appears to be the king of reinvention. Growing up in the small town of Minesing Ontario, Jason admired the well-rounded artistry of classic entertainers Roger Miller and Johnny Cash, to Merle Haggard and Glen Campbell.

Armed with a guitar and a dream, Jason set out at the age of 19 to follow his own path to stardom.

As a Country Music Artist, he’s racked up multiple CCMA and CMA awards along with a Gold album. As creator and front man of the highest selling band in Canadian Country Music history, The Road Hammers, Jason took on the Country Rock genre and guided the band to unprecedented success throughout Canada and the United States, picking up a platinum album, CCMA Band of the Year award, and a Juno along the way....but music is only part of the story....

Ever engaging and entertaining, Jason has become a popular host on many fronts. From voicing the nationally syndicated Country Radio show ‘Sounds Canadian’, (2007-2010), to stepping in front of the camera as host of Smashtown (CMT Canada/USA), and two seasons of CMT’s Pet Heroes (2010/2011).

The release of the album ‘Everything’, marked Jason’s first solo studio album since 2001, and spawned the top 10 hit, ‘She’s Good for Me’, as well as the title track ‘I’d Still Have Everything’.

Equally comfortable behind the mic, or in front of the camera, Jason McCoy has reinvented himself time and again to become a bonafide all round ‘entertainer’. Jason continues to write and record music, and prizes the time he spends with his wife and two children at their home farm, just two miles from the small town of Minesing where it all began.

Seventh Town – St Paddy’s Day Show

Seventh Town – St Paddy’s Day Show

Seventh Town is a four-piece Celtic folk band from Prince Edward County. Seventh Town blends traditional Irish, Scottish and Canadian songs and fiddle tunes with fiddle, guitar, double bass and Irish whistles to back up four-part vocal harmonies.

The core members have been playing together for more than a decade. That musical chemistry shines through in Seventh Town’s thoughtful and harmony-driven arrangements of old and new Celtic and folk pieces.

Seventh Town’s latest album, 10,000 Miles, to be released this spring, is a collection of contemporary and traditional songs and instrumentals. Though they’re often found playing in pubs across the region, Seventh Town isn’t a pub band. There’s not much of the raucous or brash about them — audiences are treated to melodic arrangements with instrumentation that showcases the band members’ several decades of combined musical experience and practice.

Seventh Town has entertained audiences on festival and theatre stages, for live music series, house parties, weddings, and church and nonprofit fundraisers throughout Ontario.

Our upstairs and accessible Eugene Burrell Hall bar and concession opens at approximately 6 PM.

Take the lobby stairs or the Stirling Library elevator next door to the Box Office. The washrooms are on both floors.
