WHAT YOUR DONATIONS HAVE ACCOMPLISHED

Since 1996, our Stirling Festival Theatre Donors have provided the foundation that has made your theatre an attractive, comfortable and vibrant place where you can enjoy laughter, listening to great music and celebrating local talent!

If you were an SFT donor in our early years, then you were a part of the force that contributed in excess of $500,000 to improve the Stirling Theatre building (built in 1927 as the Village’s Community Service Building) and to its infrastructure including:

  • Air conditioning systems
  • New washrooms
  • Box office reconfiguration
  • Artistic Director’s office upgrade
  • New auditorium seating
  • Acoustic paneling in theatre
  • Excavation of the orchestra pit
  • Total rewiring of the complex
  • Renovations and upgrades to the upper Eugene Burrell Hall

WHAT YOUR DONATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO ACCOMPLISH

If you are inspired by what we do and if you want to continue to see quality live entertainment in your community, we hope you will consider making, or continuing, your donation.

We have 4 different campaigns from which to choose:

  1. COVID-19 Emergency Fund  Your much-needed donations will help us through this difficult lean time where we are unable to produce and present shows or events. Please know that daily, we are adjusting our 2020 plans and are building for the future when you can come back to enjoy your SFT experiences. We miss you and Sherwood does as well!
  2. 2020 Donation  These donations are not targeted at a particular event or show, but help us in more ways than you know. Costumes (think the Panto Dame who usually has at least 10 looks and bling!), lighting and audio equipment, props, and the construction/painting of set pieces have all been supported by your donations in the past.
  3. SFT Young Company  Donations targeted at the Stirling Festival Theatre Young Company greatly assist us in our production costs and in keeping our youth program free-of-charge: no enrolment fee; no membership fee; no fees for costumes.
  4. Stirling Theatre Building Fund  While the Township of Stirling-Rawdon owns the Stirling Theatre, the Stirling Festival Theatre is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of this community’s historic theatre complex. Built upon what our early donors have contributed, this vintage theatre continues to need your support. You can image the ongoing upgrades and repairs that our 93 year-old gem of a theatre complex requires.
